LONDON, February 26th, 2015: EVRYTHNG, the Internet of Things (IoT) Smart Products Platform that connects consumer products to the web, will be attending Mobile World Congress 2015 next week to demonstrate how it allows real-time data to drive applications and make everyday products smart.
EVRYTHNG’s Founder and CEO, Niall Murphy will be participating in the Business of IoT panel session on Thursday 5 March, where he will explain how the IoT drives business transformation by fundamentally changing the relationship between products, consumers and brands.
During the panel session, Niall will explain the role of cloud software in managing real-time data, which allows consumer products to be re-imagined with a layer of personalized digital services, and operated as an owned, interactive media channel. He will give a live demo of different products that have been made smart by EVRYTHNG’s Platform-as-a-Service, and how this works with a range of connectivity technologies. Finally he will explain what exactly it means for consumer manufacturers to digitize their products, and how these smart things then fit into the wider connected business ecosystem to drive greater value for brands.
EVRYTHNG’s IoT Smart Products Platform will also be demonstrated in partnership with printed electronics pioneer Thinfilm, with the unveiling of a prototype JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL® “smart bottle” during a keynote address. The bottle is taqgged with Thinfilm’s proprietary OpenSense™ technology, which can detect both the sealed and opened state of each bottle. Connecting these sensor tags to EVRYTHNG’s IoT cloud and managing their unique bottle identities and associated dynamic data, allows Diageo to trigger in the moment marketing experiences and capture real-time supply chain analytics.
The prototype bottle will also be on display at Thinfilm’s booth at Mobile World Congress throughout the 4- day event.
“The importance of IoT as a discussion point at this year’s event highlights the anticipated impact of connected products, and how mobile devices are an integral part of the Internet of Things revolution by acting as smart product interfaces, often also adding connectivity and additional sensor capabilities,” said Murphy.
“We are delighted to be invited to speak and demo at Mobile World Congress and also to showcase our technology with our partners. I’m looking forward to sharpening the discussion on the business impact of IoT by sharing how smart products using real-time data creates new value by playing an active, functional role in how they are made, sold and used.”
The Business of IoT session will be held from 14.30 to 16.00 CET on Thursday 5 March in Hall 4, Auditorium 2.
